It would be nice to be able to correct in real time some of the notational errors that I've found in parts that were originally composed for violin, but have since been changed to cello and viola tessituras, Sometimes the issue is the registration, and other times, it is wrong notes in the parts.

If I were to want to play the Mendelssohn Violin Em Concerto on the cello, the transposition into treble, bass and tenor clefs of small sections would be imperative. Likewise, on viola, it isn't about just the ability to reach a note, but to not break up phrases. Again, switching clefs throughout, and octive shifting sections is needed.

I want to make practice tracks for my community choir. When two voices, say Sop & Alto, share a staff, how can I separate voice 1 from voice 2? It would be easy to do in MuseScore if the top notes were all classified as voice 1 (maybe with all stems up). Has anyone already programmed something like this?

Hi Marc and thank you for your inquiry. That's something our Playground is unable to do yet, but we'll certainly work on such a feature in a future version of it.
At the moment only more advanced notational programs can do that (like Sibelius, Dorico, etc.) I'll definitively let you know when our playground will be able to help with that. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. All the best, Sandy Cohen * VSM MEMBER * on January 14, 2025 @8:47 am PST
Love the program.
Can you add an edit feature so that we can edit the music note by note? Thank you ![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on January 14, 2025 @8:54 am PST
Thank you Sandy, I am glad you like it!
We are working on that. It will be released step-by-step, but we plan to release the ability to change notes in a "basic" way in the coming weeks. I'll definitely let you know when such a new feature will be released. Please let me know if you have any further questions or ideas to share. Does my current membership allow me access to any/all Playground features? Kindly respond. Thank you.

Does Virtual Sheet Music have any plans for making a program that takes existing music and transcribes it as sheet music? This would be for either a single instrument like a trumpet or piano. If not do you have any recommendations? I know this is an extremely complex program.

Good question Stan. Well, that's something that is on our "future plans list," of course. Technological advances are emerging that will allow us to do something like that reliably. For now, the systems available are still too rudimental, and the results are not great.
In any case, yes, that's been in my mind for a while (2-3 years?), and we'll definitely tackle that opportunity when the right time comes. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. All the best, Michael Tarnowsky * VSM MEMBER * on September 23, 2024 @8:41 am PST
Tried the Playground for the first time today using the demo Ode to Joy. Reset it to guitar G major(5) OK. Next, tried to get a print but because I am new at Playground tried all the buttons to get a print but failed and need to try again. Liked the Playground and will try again, it is just what I will be able to use to change my music to what I want. Thanks for a Graet program.

Thank you Michael for your provided feedback.
The fact that you haven't been able to print out your music doesn't sound right. Could you please provide me more details about it? For example, did the Playground give you any errors? What browser did you use? I look forward to hearing from you. Stan * VSM MEMBER * on September 23, 2024 @5:06 am PST
The whole purpose of working with Virtual is to find a way where I can take a PDF Sheet music and change it to audio. So making an XML file is a huge step and I thank you for that. However, I can't transfer this to a flash drive as a sound file. so I can use it for practice. Is there a way to do this or has tech not advanced that far? thanks

Hi Stan. Are you asking to allow the conversion of imported files to audio files so to be playable on any audio player? If so, that's certainly something we could work on.
Please let me know if that's what you are asking for. Stan * VSM MEMBER * on September 23, 2024 @8:29 am PST
I think we are onn the same page. XML is not an audio file like mpe3. So it would be nice to be able to convert the XML file to MIDI or mp3 and then use it to play along in practice. Is this a doable thing? I could copy the mp3 on a flash drive and then play it on a speaker which will produce more sound than my computer speakers. Thanks

Sure thing! That can be done, even though with some work. We'll try to add such a feature in the next big update.
Stan * VSM MEMBER * on September 23, 2024 @7:12 pm PST
Ok thanks. do you have any idea when the next update will be?
Stan * VSM MEMBER * on September 23, 2024 @8:32 am PST
PS what you have already done is quite amazing. Thank you for coming up with this.

Thank you San for your kind words! I am glad you think so, and you are most welcome, any time!
Please always feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas you may have; we will always be glad to hear from you. All the best, Stan * VSM MEMBER * on September 24, 2024 @5:03 am PST
I do not want to keep bugging you but do you have a guesstimate as to when the next update will be. Maybe you don't and it could be next year but it would be good to know what you are thinking. Thanks
Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on September 24, 2024 @7:39 am PST
Well, I hope we can do it by the end of this year. I'll keep you posted!

I retried using the new Playground. I made sure that the scanner glass was clean using an electronic wipe. Then I set the scanner to 600 dpi. It came through much better. Not perfect. So now I have XML file. I can't export it to my flash drive so I can use my speakers to play along. My computer speakers don't play it loud enough.

Thank you. I will wait til Sunday and try again and see what happens. I will let you know the results. I will save the results and send them to you if you wish.
