Hi Fabrizio, thank you for this work, perhaps an early one of your own transcriptions.

I'm hoping the original may just be on as a trombone solo - goodness knows how many super cello soloists' interpretations of this I've sat through as a horn player in concerts, waiting to play, though notably mainly in north London rather than the north west of England. I'll sort out the composer's (multiple) clefs once I get playing.

But I've downloaded the (now perhaps somewhat deprecated) Viola version here, to run past my colleague who is the local Alto Trombone tiger. The comments about de Smet may well be relevant,
and he'll probably tell me that only Alto trombonists should be attempting even the Cello version on the recital stage !

I have been a professional violist for years and I must say that this transcription is pretty hard to play but not impossible! We can easily compare to the hardest viola repertoire, but from my point of view, Walton or Hindemith concertos are much more difficult!
