Does anyone know how to set up page turns for organists?
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on December 28, 2024 @2:04 pm PST
Hi Terry and thank you for your inquiry.
Well, if you are asking when to turn pages while playing the organ, the rule is the same as for any other instrument: the page turn must be preferably made where rests are present and/or well anticipated before the notes are to be played on the next page. Please let me know if I have misunderstood your questions and/or if you need any additional help. All the best, Bret Robertson * VSM MEMBER * on August 14, 2024 @3:04 pm PST
please someone tell me why I cant get the interactive score for Auld Lang Syne
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on August 14, 2024 @3:17 pm PST
Hi Bret and thank you for your inquiry.
We have just processed your request to have that title editable inside the Playground: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/AuldLangSyne.html Once there, just click the "Open Playground" or "Playground" blue button to display the music inside the editor and transpose/edit it as you like. For VSM editions, if an item is not enabled to be edited inside the Playground yet, you can click the Interactive button at the top-left and display the music with the older Scorch system, which allows transposing the music to a limited number of keys. But of course, the Playground allows much more flexibility and features, as you can learn from this page: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/playground/ Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Hello!
Does this song, "One Step" https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/AL-112985.html Come in different keys or just the original key? Can it be transposed? Thank you! Jack ![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on August 9, 2024 @9:52 am PST
Hi Jack and thank you for your inquiry.
That's an Alfred publication, and unfortunately, they are not interactive, so it cannot be transposed online. Also, from what I see, it comes only in the key you can see from the first-page preview (E major). You could try to import it into our Playground so you can transpose it. Keep in mind that importing from a PDF file could not be as perfect as you may expect. But that could be an option to try anyway! Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. This is not the Tori Kelly version of this song from the movie Sing. It does not have a key change which that version definitely does!
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on June 19, 2024 @12:25 am PST
Yes, Ron, I guess you are referring to this item:
https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/HL-26323.html If so, that's correct. That's also highlighted in the item's description on that page. If you have purchased that music and you'd like a refund, please let me know. I'll be happy to go ahead with that. All the best, Ron Lackey * VSM MEMBER * on June 19, 2024 @12:36 am PST
Thank you Fabrizio, I would like a refund as that version was not helpful for what I needed. I would suggest taking the tag "from Sing" out of the title as most people will assume it is the Tori Kelly version since that was the version used in the movie Sing. Thanks again!
Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on June 20, 2024 @12:19 am PST
Of course, Ron, I have just refunded your purchase. And you are right, we must remove that from the page. Unfortunately, that's how Hal Leonard is giving us the title, and I see the cover page icon can also be deceptive. Thanks again for your provided feedback!

Thank you for your assistance Fabrizio. You have been most helpful!

When you show the music titles one orders you should include the key it is in so people won't download the version they DON'T want.
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on January 19, 2024 @10:00 am PST
I am sorry about that Roz. For our own music editions (VSM editions), we always show the key the music is in. For all other music (Hal Leonard's, Alfred's, etc), unfortunately, they don't provide such information, so you should look at the music first page shown on the item's page. From there, you should be able to understand what key a piece is in.
In any case, if you purchased any music from us that is not suitable for you, you can always ask for a refund. Never forget that. Please, let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. All the best, Megan * VSM MEMBER * on September 24, 2023 @3:19 pm PST
Hello! If a score has a vocal or other instrument other than piano in the score, can the piece be converted to a piano solo only, i.e., removing all but the music for piano?
Also, how can I tell what other keys are available if, for example, I want to play a score in an easier key? Thank you. ![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on September 24, 2023 @4:57 pm PST
Hi Megan and thank you for your inquiry.
What you are asking (converting one instrument into a different one) is something that, at the moment, can be done in a limited way for the Hal Leonard repertoire (just for their interactive sheet music). For the VSM repertoire, we are working on a new tool that we are going to launch in a few weeks (watch for an upcoming announcement about it and more about it below...). About transposition, at the moment, you can transpose in any key the Hal Leonard interactive repertoire and into a limited number of keys the VSM repertoire. To understand what keys you can transpose into (for the VSM repertoire), you can simply try to open the music into the current interactive viewer and see what keys you can transpose it into. For example, if you want to transpose the Meditation from Thais by Massenet for violin and piano, start from its page: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/Meditation.html Then click the interactive icon at the top of the shown music, which will bring you to the following page: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/Meditation.html#interactive Then choose a part, let's say the piano part: https://www.virtualsheetmusic.com/score/Meditation.html#interactivelsit_1 Then, click on the icon at the top of the shown music with the two notes to access the transposing menu. From there, you can see what keys you can transpose the music into. Again, a new tool we are going to launch soon will allow the transposition of the VSM repertoire in any keys and octaves. Such a new tool will offer incredible features! I see you are subscribed to our mailing list, so watch for the announcement about it coming probably by the end of next week ![]() Please, let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you Megan! And you are very welcome!
Yes, at the moment, the whole process is a little cumbersome, but that'll end up working much better soon. I'll probably get in touch with you personally as soon as the tool is ready to be tested. We'll open it to a limited number of users first, and if you are interested, you can be part of that group. Your feedback will be very welcome! We'll be in touch soon ![]() Michael * VSM MEMBER * on August 19, 2023 @5:17 am PST
Just wondering if there is any way to have guitar chords printed on the sheet music??
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on August 19, 2023 @10:47 am PST
Hi Michael.
If an item includes chord indications, that is marked under the item's description. Otherwise, I am afraid there is no way to add those to the sheet music arbitrarily. Please, let me know the title (even better, its link) of the music you'd like to have chords for, and I'll see if we can help in any way. All the best, Michael * VSM MEMBER * on August 19, 2023 @11:07 am PST
Thanks very much, but no need to go to any extra links. The song I was interested in, I already have the cords for. I was just curious about other songs when they were downloaded.
Thanks very much for your work! Mike Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on August 19, 2023 @11:15 am PST
Thank you Mike!
Just to give you an heads-up, we are working on a new interactive viewer that will allow to do must more than simple transposition. You'll be able to change instruments in an intelligent way, and we'll add the ability to add chords automatically ![]() Stay tuned! Ms * VSM MEMBER * on July 14, 2023 @10:40 pm PST
I purchase a piece of music again to try and download the larger print score on the page after transposing it.
I still can not get the larger score. The arrangement is by Mark Hayes "In Christ Alone". I am trying to view the score in F Major in the original font as seen on the Web page. Please could you assist me. Jillian.r.bradford@det.nsw.edu.au. ![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on July 15, 2023 @8:58 am PST
Hello Ms. Bradford and thank you for your inquiry and recent purchase.
I am sorry about that. I'll be happy to assist you. Here are the steps to transpose and download your music in F major, as you have indicated: 1. From your purchased music's page, click on the icon with the two notes at the top-right of the shown score to open the transposing panel. 2. Once that's open, choose to transpose the music in F major, then close that window. 3. Once you are ready to print your music, click on the Printer icon on the right of the same notes icon you clicked earlier above to print it out or save your music as a PDF file. Be sure NOT to click the other printer icon even further at the top, which will print the original, untransposed music (a warning will be shown because of that). I hope this helps. Please, let me know if you need any further assistance. All the best, Carl * VSM MEMBER * on June 20, 2023 @7:57 am PST
Can I download just the vocal part of an interactive sheet music that has piano too?
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on June 20, 2023 @8:38 am PST
Hello Carl and thank you for your inquiry. If it is a Virtual Sheet Music edition, we usually include the separate vocal part.
If it is an Hal Leonard edition, they may not include a separate vocal part, and even though the music is interactive, there is currently no way to "extract" the vocal part. Please, let me know what music you'd like to have a separate vocal part for, and I'll see if we can hep you in some way. All the best, DAN * VSM MEMBER * on May 6, 2023 @2:52 pm PST
I transposed Rise Again to Amaj but can’t print it . It printed twice in Aflat
![]() Fabrizio Ferrari - moderator and CEO, on May 6, 2023 @4:41 pm PST
I am sorry about that Dan. I just tried myself with the same piece you purchased, and it worked just fine. I transposed the music in A major first, then clicked the Printer button at the top of the displayed music, and I could download a PDF of it in A major.
I am going to send it to you by email. I'd be curious to know what device or web browser you are using. Thank you for reporting this issue. All the best, Display more comments... (43 more)
